Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Nice shot. Aloha

If they made 'seat belts' for these boards, old TallPockets MIGHT give it a try. WINK. WONDERFUL shot, beachzz!

Another great surf shot. When I was growing up, there was a huge divide between the regular stand up surfers (like me) and those who rode Body boards. The atmosphere ended in many fights out my local beach. Looking back, it was all so stupid. This guy seems to be having a ball, so good luck to him I say! My daughter rides these too! They used to be nicknamed McDonald's Trays!

Marvelous shot! WOW! This is really nice and dynamic. I love the way he's breaking through the wave, kinda like...well...surfing; the water splatter is amazing, the color is nicely captured, and the surfer is kinda cute. I'd think that being down low like that would help to increase speed, but with fins and a shorter board, wouldn't sharks be more likely to mistake them for edible seals? It's quite clear that one doesn't surf in this way in shark infested waters. Although I have to say it would make the sport...um...interesting might be the word. I love this shot. You do these aquatic action shots so well. I keep expecting to head out west and just by total accident, see you in your green flip-flops AND a surfboard, heading out to the place where the big waves live.

OMG, what a magnificent rooster tail behind the surfer as he roars across the ocean surface, Maz! That, and the excellent POV, backlighting and clarity, makes this a definite fave, young lady! Stand up and take a bow!

Another great shot my friend :)

Terrific capture! You caught this as well as he caught that wave. Great looking spray! Dana

Hmmmmmmmmm. It's presently 31F in Chicago, and snowing rather majestically around the street lights. Tomorrow we're supposed to get 50mph Canadian winds that will drop the temp into the single digits with below zero windchills...and more snow. I really need to move to California.
