Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Beautiful color and action! Love the hint of story about the inside out pants with the belt. I bet there is a fab story behind that one! Great shot!

Nice shot - I think I know exactly where you tooks this. I think we need a Ninja photographers gathering in Vegas this spring.

whoosh! A wash of lights & colors pouring down a main drag: Very Vegas! And the gold tones reflect the fake & real gold of the place. A real slap in the face of lights & dazzling hues: It must be blinding to be there. When you feel you don't belong, just remember the ranks of photographers who knew it was their job to chronicle rather than belong to the places they captured. You're in good company! Wonderful shot of Sin City, hope to see more.

Oh, I love this! Reminds me of an opening shot to an episode of the o riginal "CSI". I love the whoosh and hustle of everything. And there is just something about nighttime urban shots that I love. I've never been to Vegas, but the stories I've heard that didn't stay there are pretty, hmmmmmmmmmm, shall we say...interesting? Love the bit about the jammies and inside out pants with belt. The last one reminds me of several/numerous things I saw when I attended International Mister Leather in 1995. Oh, the stories I could tell... Forgettaboutit. Great shot!

Yes...! You captured the pulse of the place. Got to get back there for some night photography.

Great shot, and great observations and comments. All that seems to matter are the tables or one-armed bandits!

Vega$...such a bright and gleaming spot in the desert! You really captured the excitement of it, the life, the vivid colors, the neon, the movement and flow...heck, you even made me spell "Vegas" like the old tv show with What's-His-Name in it! That's the thing about my brain: I never really know what's going to come out of it until...well...until it comes out. This shot is amazing! It's so incredibly sensual...I can feel that electric-jiggle in the air...but you know what? I'm not gonna ask about those jeans...some things really should stay in Vegas.

Ah, my favorite city, to have a fully charged battery and an empty memory card. Wonderful & colorful opening shot. Dana
