(Jan. 2008) Hello everyone and thanks for visiting my page. My name is Tom, and I've been interested in art and sketch drawing as a hobby for as long as I can remember, although never very seriously. In mid 2007 I started using Poser 6 and Photoshop Elements, and have been 'hooked' on '3D' art ever since. I'm still learning to use various 3D modeling programs to try and develop some digital art skills. I enjoy getting feedback from other artists on what to work on and how to improve.
(Feb. 2009) The submarine I've attempted to animate is from an old TV show in the 1960s called 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea'. Although the show was kind of cheesy, I remember watching it after school along with old episodes of Star Trek.

very nice work

I think it is a grand period kind of piece. Yeah I laugh to at the number of hits pieces get but then again sometimes you get a surprise. Like Sci-Fi with a Saucer or something do just about as well as hotties. Go figure.

Lovely render!

great looking horse and rider, magnificent looking scene tom. A++

Good picture. Being able to produce your own clouds is very useful as it is THE universally acceptable background. I have to resort to photos of clouds and Bryce. The situation you descibe is women's fault. Why don't they lust after hot men!

Great scene !!

Yeah that is a recipe for disaster, but there is art outside of the pinup genre...shocking but true! I wonder if there is dynamic hair (mane) for the mil horse, or has anyone made any? There are probably textures in freestuff but you'd have to do a search for them.

This is a great pinup of the mare! Very good work

Gorgeous artwork!!

Well maybe the horse is a girl, and she's not wearing too much then ;-) Nice work.

Very nice work - and yes, it makes a change to see non-pinups every now and then! (even at the risk of fewer views...)

Hey Tom, I love horses. This is posed so nicely too.
dsquadron214
You've become somewhat 'jaded' in your old age LOL! Well rendered sir!
mikeerson
don't you have a matt for the horse in pose? I haven't played with the horse much, so can't really help. ...I LOVE THAT SHIRT - awesome! Hairstyle is also cool. ...well, after christmas, I'll have to take your advice and work a girl into my avatar - lol... but, I think you're right on that subject.

you are so right about doing a male character scene...don't know why, but certainly the girlie scene are far more popular...i for one like variety and always like to create a male-centtic scene once in the while and do enjoy viewing another's fella scenes ;) like what you've done here...the subtle lighting and horsie are quite nice--so is your guy :D
lwperkins
There is an artist on Renderosity who does splendid horse texes," cwrw "(?) I'd have to look it up, but her textures look super (turn on displacement, too;) And you know me, I'd always look at the guy renders before any other ones! He looks wonderful, ready for an adventure!
Radar_rad-dude
I would say your diastrous recipe turned out quite nicely! Accidents will happen! A most excellent work of art, lady or no lady! Sometimes the guys need equal time! Great render here! Bravo!
bazza
Great work on this piece Tom but where is the sexy girl?? I won't look if there is no sexy girl LOL nah there is more than that in art isn't there?? hehehe. Very lovely guy and horse.. wonderful!!
hardwaretoad
I think lwperkins is right on the name for the horse textures, a quick search here should net you results. I've seen them in various renders and they're fantastic. There's life outside the NVIATWAS themes but watch your views fall in the crapper... lol. Good lookin' guy none-the-less, Tom. Buff, no nonsense, and a full head of hair, what's not to like? The horse does look a little "flat", maybe bumpin' the bumpmap up might help some.
alessimarco
Great work on a mounted character! Those are really tricky...well done! Variety is a good thing for an artists...Bravo for going outside the popular box!
magnus073
Tom, I think it's a classic looking scene and your work is always first rate no matter what the subject

I'm flexible as wet spaghetti noodles..I'll make the charts someday....sooner or later I'll create something that draws attention without having to use trickery or nudity or pinups to get their...just a matter of time and choice....sorry...no help with horse ..I could use a good texture as well...got a horse in storage needing a more realistic texture..maybe Santa will bring me one...lol...Hey...Some of us grown ups still believe....(wink)....as for your scene...
