Description
The trek from here starts into the foothills of the Coyote buttes where the landscape changes from the islands of sandstone teepees and mesa's surrounded by a sea of sand, shown here, to just sandstone for as far as the eye can see.
This image also looks back on where I started the hike, just to the left of the sandstone mesa right of center. My vantage point here is atop the rock formation in the image "Along those lines", If missed click here please.
"Along those lines"
"Along those lines" would be the pan left to the last image "Painters palette". The vista atop this formation is southeasterly showing the downward slop of the land toward the Paria river. The Paria wilderness is left of this image, but will be seen in this series shortly. In the distance, left of center, is another sandstone area called "The white pocket". It is just what it sounds, a pocket of white sandstone some of which is quite twisted in form. I don't know if one can get the sense of how the land gradually rises in the distance to the right horizon, but at the end of that rise is the "Vermillion cliffs". To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed my last image below.

Beautiful capture of the interaction between the gorgeous landscape and a sky crowded with clouds. I love the swath of darker shades that the clouds lay across the land. Excellent color, light, detail, and depth. Gorgeous scene!
