Description

These contours struck me as looking like an upside down or inverted view of a sea turtle shell. The majority of the plant families about the area are found in this image. The large area at the bottom is Knick Kick, which I believe is an evergreen plant. On the border of the Knick Knick are some cactus similar to yucca. The remaining shrubs from left to right are Mormon tea, in the center a couple small rabbit brush, one is flowering. Finally at the top right is a Scrubby oak. After hiking over this little embankment one leaves the sand behind and it becomes sandstone for as far as the eye can see. It is hard to differentiate the formation behind from this foreground, but to the left of the Scrub oak along the edge of the contour is a pawn shaped rock center frame that sits atop this formation. It is just a shade more to the color red than the slightly whiter sandstone of the skyline behind. These whiter formations will be seen in the next post. To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed my last image below. thumb_2145026.jpg

Beautiful shape, lines, and motion! The clouds seem to be imitating the rock formations. I love the coma shaped contours filled with sand and the many varied shapes. Excellent title! Very interesting info and great capture of the different plants. Wonderful detail and POV. Gorgeous shot!

The only problem with this superb photo is it cannot reveal the special atmosphere of the place, unless you've not got there.

This is yet another of your amazing rock shots, and I love the contours here, the sand, the colors...everything in this just works perfectly. The composition is really marvelous. I like this a lot, quite a lot.
