Oh my. The depth of the tonal range is just gorgeous! You already know how much I love this look. It's spectacular! That soft, yummy sheen makes me think of chocolate mousse. sigh Marvellous!

Mark, this is such a beautiful photo my friend. This stunning view really made my night as with all your work it is clear you put a lot of thought into it. your choice to go with it in black and white was brilliant, as it really gives the shimmer off the water even more of a boost.

Dream-like quality. Love the softness of all the elements in this image and of course the subtle rays of dawn's early light. Wow.

Just to stand there and absorb the mood and the light and peace must be just wonderful. You did right in using B/W here. Its about the mood and the calm feeling and this lovely morning. A wonderful shot Mark.

you know those moments when you are just waking from a wonderful restful sleep; images come to you from a far away place. This transition state is so beautifully captured here. Beautiful-should be MUST see zoomed.

The early risers get the best pics. This is really stunning. I love the glass-like calmness and serene mood here, and those silver tones with a hint of purple are luscious. You are certainly showing me a side of Chicago I've never seen before. CC

Looks so chill. Grabs one's focus and invites one to meditate and glory in it's simplicity and beauty.

A splendidly spectacular, virtually ethereal scene, Mark, far beyond my limited capacity to describe and give justice to! I'll give it a try though; stellar blends, reflections and textures, my friend!

A wonderful capture with amazing lighting. I love how smooth and textured the lake looks when I zoomed, and you caught the little rays that were trying so hard to get through the heavy cloud very well. The B&W shows the details so very well.

There is much peace and light in this foto. Your lake has so many faces; some serene like this one--and the other face that knocks you flat when you least expect it. Beautifully done and the B&W is perfect.

My first thought was of satin. Luxurious, and supple, reflecting the light in a softly radiant glow. Excellent capture, lovely in B&W. Beautiful rays, stretching far out from the sun, and slowly fading away. Wonderful gradients of light, going from the almost black on the left to the soft gray on the right. I love the horizontal lines of the horizon and ripples, and the vertical lines of the reflected sun. Gorgeous atmosphere, light, and depth!

I attempt to play with light, but you effortlessly capture it's many moods to create achingly beautiful vistas. What an eye you have...
