BIO
My love for digital art started about 2001 when I created simple 2D-wallpapers for my Star Wars homepage. I always was annoyed with the picture-material I had, as it never fitted to my needs and I wanted to create more unique images. Searching the net for a program that could solve my problem I found Bryce. Soon I was a member of a Yahoo-group and everybody was talking about Poser..... That was the beginning of my friendship for this wonderful program! Everyday I learn more about this "mysterious" program and I think I'll never learn everything ;o) Hopefully one day I have the chance to build my own digital models, but at the moment I love it to texture models with PhotoImpact. That's it. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me! ~Saskia~
Update 2008
Sorry to say that, but I nigh completely abandoned Poser from my workspace, as I've moved on to Carrara, an application I learned to love and that challenges my intention to finally build my own models. I just have to find a way how and where to start learning....

Pretty good, the lighting looks reasonably outdoorsy and and it's showing up the model detail well. Personally I'd also throw in a spotlight to pick out some highlights, especially in the eyes. Nice pose and set-up.

I like it well enough, But I find a lot of Cararra lighting needs to be really fiddled with to get a proper bright outdoor look without washing things out. (hdr in Daz is also bad for the overcast look) I'd select one of the main lights and up the intensity some and see if that helps. Otherwise, I like it a lot. It's all framed nicely and the GI looks great! My muse went off on vacation. I still get postcards every now and again.
PsychoNaut
Very sexy, yeah get some reflection or specular on the eyes, other than that it's spot on

let's go outside? It doesn't get anymore outside than this, does it? lol... so, ya need some encouragement? and you have Jack Sparrow sitting in a blank file somewhere wondering how he's going to come back to life.... here's a picture for ya, Take a ship, put a plank on it and have Jack walking the plank, have a large amout of crew hands standing on the boat and watching Jack getting poked in the but by a sword to jump off the plank where a hungry grea shark is waiting.... If, You don't have a shark, make the picture as described, showing some water at the bottom where the shark would be... send it to me, I love sharks and have a great white and hammer head, I'll drop in the sharks and we'll both give each other credit and both post it in our galleries - what do you say?

Looks pretty good for a straight GI scene Sassy. It strikes me as more of a late afternoon heading toward twilight sort of setting, so if you were shooting for a different time of day, then you might want to adjust accordingly. I do agree with RougePilot as far as the model looking a bit "flat" (for lack of a better way to describe it), although she's not out of character with the surrounding lighting. Since I've never worked with Carrara, I'll have to defer to Madbat's suggestion (which sounds like sound advice for most 3D apps). Granted, if you just do a bit of post render editing, you probably wouldn't need to mess with your lighting set up at all. A quick bit of darkening to the shadows under the chin/jaw to give it more depth, and adding some general highlights to the figure should do the trick (again, I agree with RougePilot, the eyes are especially important to get those unless you want the character to be perceived as cold or stern. They also help give the impression of the eyes being a moist surface). If I see your muse, I'll make sure to send her back to you... probably off having a coffee with mine (I've got 5 drawings / paintings that are currently WIP's due to mine deciding to take her holiday, so I know what ya mean hon.)
