Description

More from my trip back through my files from the day we went downtown last February. I've gotten totally sucked into that set of images, and have been working up millions of them! (Okay ... quite a few.) The topic at home this week has been postwork, and the idea that you can make something out of anything. (It's a working theory ... I'll let you know how that turns out! LOL!) In theory, a single image could yield more than one radically different piece of art. You can judge for yourself. This is the same source photo I posted a couple days ago.

This is rather amazing; I have a foto of a mosaic fountain from my trip last weekend. It looks very much like this. So, I have to tell you how much I like your shot!!

Straight away Neptune comes to my mind (not the planet...lol). Lots of shades of blue and a great splashing all over.

Very pretty and soothing. I like the blue better than the earth colors in 'Falling Water' but that's just me. Completely different feeling with this closeup. Interesting experiment.

WOW It is lovely Tara. Yes, Postwork and play with photos can be a big fun :-) I do it all the time. Just made some crazy paintings and realize they are good for mixing into other things. Just ask Mark :D.

I agree! You, ( and particularly YOU!) can make art out of anything at all! Superb and very different.

Excellent work, and theoretically all we'd need is one good shot to keep us busy for weeks!

This is quite amazing, and it's something that I wholeheartedly agree with. A single image can yield so much: sometimes with postwork, sometimes with creative cropping, sometimes with a combination of the two. I have numerous images in my files that are larger files broken up into pieces, or the SAME file postworked multiple times, to withing millimeters of each postworked copy's life. Funny how that works. As for this shot, I love the fragmentary nature of it: the mosaic tiles themselves a part of a fountain that isn't entirely shown...and the image itself is likely one of these tiles, in a sense, in that it just might be a part of something larger! I love that, and truly love the philosophical thread you've started here. This is really cool stuff!

Ah, the magic that can be created with Photoshop in talented hands! And this is proof! Excellent variation, Tara! The blues are wonderfully soothing!

I originally liked the brown version best. Something has happened...this blue version has taken over:) Love the light playing off the falling water and the wet tiles. Makes a strong case for being able to getting multiple somethings out of a single shot!

OMG, the title triggered some kind of signal in the deep recesses of my cranium at first; it took a while, and then I remembered....Fountain in Blue....Pete Fountain's Blues! Of course! The musician from New Orleans! But I digress. Stellar colors, patterns, reflections and refractions in this liquidy capture.

It really is definitely, something! Something very beautiful and unique.... I love the colours of this, and the effect of the water downpour makes it so much more interesting. You definitely have a special way of creating a masterpiece out of even the simplest of subjects! Gorgeous artwork!

I like this a lot. For some reason it reminds me of the showers in the pavilion at Casperson Beach in Venice, Florida. I believe the tiles there are actually aqua. i love the idea of blue tiles with water, it just seems like such a natural fit. Also love the idea of pulling many different things from the same original source material. Cool!
