Description

...been scratching my head concerning what to do with a 100+ year old, rusty, decommissioned, railroad swing-bridge photographed on a very gray, rainy day ten months ago. ...This rather abstract solution was inspired by an upload of "Planet Seattle" by MrsRatbag seen here. As I recall, that really was a bridge to nowhere. That was a fun day with Denise, and I'm glad you went back looking for things to play with. That image made a fantastic "planet" piece! I need to get busy and do a little practicing with this technique. Very cool!

Wow, Bill! And I thought you had started working for a local eye doctor (photo of a very sick patient's eye)! Chuckle, laughter. I've looked at the link, too. I just can't figure out how this is done, but it looks great. There are a rare few paintings from the 1600s that are like this - the idea was to place a silver cylinder in the middle of the painting in order to see what it represented by looking at the reflection on the cylinder's polished mirror-like surface. There was a bit of trompe l'oeil experimenting among some of the old masters back then. This is particularily fun as it's an old rotating bridge going around to nowheres. Really nice concept. Now you folks will have to create a tutorial to teach the rest of us! Keep up the fun work! :-)

Perfect solution, Bill! You did well with this; it look like it goes down forever in the center! I'll have to go back to my shots from that day and see what else I've got hiding in the files. Between the weather and some physical issues I haven't been able to get our shooting in a couple of weeks!

Wow - an interesting bit of postwork on this bridge, Bill. Kinda like that hotel you can check out of anytime, but you can never leave... You just go around and around forever! Superbly cool!

This is mind bending stuff Bill. Brilliant, so open to misinterpritation on first glance, but then the details bring it into context.

WOW! A kaleidoscope bridge! I really love the way you've made something so concrete as an abandoned bridge into something abstract! I love the colors in this: those nice, muted grays, the dark brown of rust and impressively heavy iron. This whole image is a nice twist on something familiar...well, familiar to somebody. I haven't been to that neck of the woods yet, but I know I'll see it and hopefully live close by at some point. This is really nice.
