Description

Unable to get the cars out to go exploring the UK's winter wonderland at the moment I've been wrapping up warm and venturing out a bit nearer to home... when I saw this untouched field of fresh snow I just couldn't resist, even though the sun had gone down nearly an hour before and the temperature was rapidly dropping. Despite being entirely unable to feel my fingers by the end of creating this image, I'm pleased I managed to brave it as this is my portfolio's first real snowy night-time landscape :) 30 second exposure.

The long exposure has made it almost a daylight shot. It is only the cloud movement that gives the game away. A beautiful capture!

Such a beautiful winter image. I probably would have focused only on the one tree because it is so beautiful, I love the branches reaching up to the sky, but I like how you captured this bringing in the surrounding landscape.

Simplicity of nature… at it's best! It's as though the sky itself is in motion… and yet the rest of the world is at a stand still. Gorgeous winter scene indeed! A fantastic, and most soothing portrayal!

I like the motion blur. It adds something special to an otherwise superb image. Well worth it as long as there is no permanent damage to your fingers.
