May the Peace of the Season be Yours all through the year. May Christmas be a joyous day for you all. No matter what your religion or belief is, may this be a time of peace and blessings for you. Thank you all for the great comments on the previous post, and I think I'll make it a New Year's Resolution to try very hard to get caught up with everyone!

a really reflective, thoughtful image, Rita, and it's wonderful you made it about reflection & peace, because that's really at the heart of the season. (And of the solstice too, esp in our hemisphere where it's all about light in the midst of darkness). There are other images here I want to get to, but today I'm stopping in everyone's gallery once, to wish a wonderful holiday to all; and this is a wonderful image to do that for. The bird & fruits are there, but they're accompanied by the looming sky above, eternity looking down on us. And it's all done with a deep reflective & gentle air. I love the light in this image. Besides, the bird is a symbol of transcendence & richness (that was huge in earlier christmas celebrations, when the bird indicated having riches and highly rich in a season when many didn't have anything---look at "The Twelve Days of Christmas" whose lyric goes back to very old roots: The first six days are all birds. That's how important they were.) ("Five Golden Rings" is the gold-ringed pheasant, not actual jewelry...in case you didn't already know it.) And you have fruits, the obvious symbol of sweetness & nurturance. I wish you & all your loved ones a blessed & wholly illumined holiday, and a wonderful 2011. And thank you for this consistently inventive, fun, beautiful, spirit-filled & magic gallery of offerings, and for the support & inspiration you give me and everyone else here, over & over. You don't have to apologize for missing comments, or even make a resolution to get caught up: Your comments can come anytime, anywhere. They're all gifts! Have a great holiday & I'll be back for more when the holidays are over...

halloo my great friend from the West !! thanks a lot for all the long and funny comments you place at (my) images here at Rendero.. They are always such fun to read... I am sure that every day this year had it's moment of a BIG smile when you posted some text.... As the Dutch say.. "Een dag niet gelachen is een dag niet geleefd" (if you did not smile on a day, you were not alive that day, or freely translated.. a day without a smile is a lost day) Thanks again.. hope Christmas is/was good and 2011 will be fantastic for you
