Description

Well, after finally finishing all those promos for my character (two weeks 'cause I'm so unorganized) I really didn't want to open the program. I'm losing inspiration on doing renders and losing viewers 'cause of being away too long... eh... and waiting on Rendo to test my last submit and getting very worried of bills, wish they'd hurry. Since I don't have any "DS mats" projects for a while, I'm making another character, but ran into a technical rut, sorta, just learning something very technical most won't look into so dropped it for a while & went to the forums. Thanks to pjz99, I just learned something new about shadow bias when someone asked a question there (in forums). Did not want to do up a whole new scene, so I picked up an old scene that didn't really turn out, so I can test it. What I learned, the lower your shadow bias is, the less "gap" your shadows will have on things very close to each other. It answered a very mysterious thing for me in seeing these "chopped off shadows" of things getting closer together in my renders. This is said about deep shadow map, that the "lighted line" will disappear if you turn shadow bias down, but it also applies to raytraced shadows as well, at least in Daz Studio anyways. As you can see in this render, with shadow bias set to 0.10, there's shadows from the bikini and no chopped off shadows on the shirt as it gets closer to the skin (but then maybe most don't notice that in some renders). Finding new inspiration and having so many toys I never got to around to playing with, I figured I would do up a render for Godin with my favorite character from her (but with a petite body). Just love learning new things :) Rendered in DS3.1.2.19, post worked the "blended opacity" of the dynamic shirt in PSPx12, you can figure out how I did that... ;) Hope ya like it! ...wolfie
