What a magical month we have..
It is still freezing cold and more snow is on it's way..

On top left.. enormous icecles ("ijspegels") above a canal that is frozen (in fact it is "De Beek", what the Seine is for Paris, The Thames for London, The Amstel for Amsterdam and the Rotte for Rotterdam.. grin.. but we like it small scale in this city)
A row lower, on the left of the christmastree (at the beach !) is a castle like building. The old prison, now used by the United Nations for international suspects on trail in The Hague).
On the right of the Christmas tree a Father Christmas who is not going to make it.. grin
Below it, the Roman Cathlic Graveyard, chapel.
And to the right of that The Huygensgate (1665)
Constantijn Huygens was the famous father of the even more famous Christiaan Huygens (remember the Cassini-Huygens mission at the planet Saturn/Titan)
Christiaan discovered the rings of Saturn, or recognized them as they were, and the moon Titan.
People had to pay tax if they wanted to go from the old town The Hague to the beach, over a road designed by father Huygens. The second paved road between two different places in Europe SINCE the Romans (the first was between The Hague and Rijswijk, on the other side of town).
The gate has moved to another location because of travic.... Cars and trams still use Huygens road today ! (newer bricks and rails of course)
On the right below and on top the Watertower of the city.. in the dunes

Sigh .. what wonderful buildings in all the montages you've posted of the winter wonderland. The images that appear to be more in the country side are incredible
