UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Oh yeah I remember having my eye on your comfy looking shoes! So what beasties would be lurking under that calm sea, Killer Whales? We don't have them down here, but we have Great Whites which more than make up for being safe from Killer Whales!!!!!!!!!! It looks a bit cold for Irukandji!

Great POV--but I still don't know how your knees did that!!!! lol

Gorgeous!! I love the layers ... beach, waves, water, peninsula, mountains, clouds, blue sky ... it's a feast for the eyes! The low angle is super. I'm glad you posted this in answer to the questions!

Checked Tara's pic. Okay position for a quick grab, but because I have to get real low to see the vid-screen, I'd probably sit. If I had my older tripod (with the center core that can be inverted so the camera can be an inch above the rocks, inverted) I'd just shoo blind with several small changes of angle. In this pic, the earth's curvature steals stature from the Olympic Range.

the low shot worked....

From what I can recall, I wasn't one of that curious group. Nonetheless, stellar colors, DOF, lighting contrast and textures in this low angle capture of the tranquil scene, Bill.

Well as they say, 'Inquiring Minds Want to Know..' LOL! And I'm glad they do, because this is a beautiful photo, Bill! The stress you placed on your knees paid off, my friend! What a beauty of a shot! Hope you and Tara heve a wonderful first Christmas! :-D

What a shot! I love the lowdown POV, and I love the fact that spell check didn't under line "lowdown" as I typed it, but DID underline POV...so much for trusting spell check. Anyway, enough rambling. What a shot! I love the calm mood of it and the "layers" that Tara pointed out...it's a complex picture, really inviting and nicely cool in color, without being cold. This is really great work and quite an inviting scene. Yeah, I like this a lot. I'm seeing this on Christmas Eve at Corey's place as I listen to the soundtrack to Inception and it's quite an experience to see this image with really BIG orchestral music booming from the CD player. I love this shot, and Merry Christmas to you!
