Description

Saw the title on a t shirt and thought it would be perfect for this shot. The tiny beads are a long chain chemical bond polymer. Through Osmosis they absorb water and expand to the size you see in the glass. Found these at a dollar store. It is listed as a 12 up adult supervision kids project, But it has this long warning statement about the dangers of the chemicals. The last step in the instructions says "Once they are dry, go ahead and play away." Used a stacker program to combine several shots with different contrasts. My light box is small so I am not totally happy with the background. Will experment more or I may just dry them off and play away.

Very cool shot! Those sound like a fun little gizmo! Going to have to go to our dollar store and see if I can find some of those :-)

Cool pic, and fascinating project....not so sure I would want to play with them, though.

Hey Greg you are killing me ... LOL now make sure you don't swallow one accidentally ! You could always change the light by using different coloured paper or whatever underneath it, or put an empty bottle of Champagne next to it ? :-) Reminds me, what somebody once said: electricity is made up of extremely tiny particles called electrons, which you cannot see with the naked eye, unless you have been drinking ! oops ... ;-) Seasons Greetings, dear friend BB

Reminds me of those famous last words, "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." This sounds like it would be really cool to play with. Personally I think the shot is fantastic. I love the light and colors on the larger spheres.
