Welcome to my homepage!
I am new to this whole homepage / website thing. I love photography but am a novice with that too! My brother and friend post on here regularly and I was curious so got on and really like what I see so I figured I would give it a try.
I really enjoy nature photography especially macrophotography. I usually use a 35 mm camera using slide or print film but have switched into the digital because it's great for the environment and it its much more flexible. The most beautiful things in life to me are the most simple and often overlooked.
I have always been the black sheep (non-artist) in a family of very talented artists. I would love to connect with other folks who are interested in nature photography.Â
Peace, KateÂ

She plays the piano? Nice! I love this close up shot and how it's nicely framed by what looks like that curvy part of the piano near the keys, oh and yeah "curvy part" is the extremely official technical name for that part of the piano; I think it's derived from Latin Curvius particus...but anyway, enough of my rambling through fake words that I'm forcing everyone to accept as real. I like this photo and I love the way it features mood and personality without showing more than hands, a curvy piano bit, and keys. Very nice. This is the kind of stuff I like; it's concrete but abstract and I love the natural way this is framed. The choice for black and white is perfect for this too, especially since a bit of the white looks as if it has a slight burn to it; that brings out details quite a lot and well...whether you applied the burn yourself or not, it works wonderfully. This is a really great shot.

Nicely composed.

Wonderful to have a mom still playing the piano! You captured her busy hands in a nice manner. B&W is a good choice. The small DOF attracts the view to her hands.

very touching tribute to your mom, who is obviously a multi-talented and very caring person. And a really nice shot of her playing. (It looks like she has some training, from the curvature of her fingers...we pianists notice these things, lol; if she didn't have training, she developed technique on her own.) You got the wear that keys gather over time, as well as the alternate sheen & shadow of a keyboard up close. But most of all you got your mom's hands, someone you obviously love & care about. And I like that you allowed the 'imperfections' of a closeup, the faded focus mixed with super-detail, the intense light & shade, etc. It's an honest portrait, and a touching tribute. Seems there's real love in your family, and talent too! It's been really nice to see that through yours & corey's work here.
