Description

(Bug Comic) I wanted to do a matching image of Rain to go with the summer one of Bryan: http://gypsyreggae.com/BugSeason/BWoodgod-copy.jpg (you'll have to copy n paste, since it's an off-Rosity URL)and also have this image be my Renderosity "Christmas Card." In Rain's case, it would be a Yule card, since they are sort of "neo-pagan" rather than Christian, with multiple gods of varying importance; but like everyone else this time of year, he's out in the woods collecting holly and pine boughs and some floppy-looking mistletoe for the season. His birthday is Dec 22nd--his Aunt says that his mother would have had him on the 21st but didn't want to spoil anyone's holiday, which meant that the usual midwife was too hung over to do any baby delivering, so Rain was born in the Fenris Jewish Medical Clinic, and has an actual birth certificate, unlike most of the rest of his family. Bob the cat is about to ask to be picked up and carried, since his paws are cold. It's a good thing he's a pet;) ----------- Since 90% of this is painted, it's not the best--I should have found a reference for the figure before I just started painting, and then the jacket would have been better. The only good thing about it is that you can see how tall Rain *should* look (Poser often makes the perspective odd so he looks shorter than he should) and his hair texture is right in this one. His reflective eyes are always hard to get to look convincing. I might go back later when I have more time and put more detail in the snow and the trees, but I wanted to get this up at least on Christmas, and wish everyone a wonderful holiday! Bob is Daz's MilCat with Lyne's Wildcat morphs. And I found where she is selling them again! http://www.planit3d.com/source/interviews/lyne.html (that's the interview, but there is a side menu) -----

KITTEH!! I always prefer painted over posered any day of the week. it's far more creative seeming and less cut-n-paste ready made. I'd carry Bob, but then, I'm such a suck.

~The expressions of Rain and Bob really make this scene a wonder! Rain...all sincerity and determination, Bob just plain fed up with padding through snow! :) Fabulously done and I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!~

One wonders why you do poser when you can paint like this? Where can one get that texture for Bob? I could really use a wildcat set.

What do you mean not the best? Everything you paint is always so fantastic! I don't see anything that needs improvement. I love the outdoorsy feel to this one. Poor Bob, it's his natural habitat and all he can think of is carry me. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
