Welcome to my homepage!
I am new to this whole homepage / website thing. I love photography but am a novice with that too! My brother and friend post on here regularly and I was curious so got on and really like what I see so I figured I would give it a try.
I really enjoy nature photography especially macrophotography. I usually use a 35 mm camera using slide or print film but have switched into the digital because it's great for the environment and it its much more flexible. The most beautiful things in life to me are the most simple and often overlooked.
I have always been the black sheep (non-artist) in a family of very talented artists. I would love to connect with other folks who are interested in nature photography.Â
Peace, KateÂ

This shot rocks. You do nature shots quite well...it seems if it's something alive, you really know how to catch it. That's a good thing. Okay, I do the same, but usually only if those living things exude snot, have lots and lots and lots of legs, or if they're weeds...but hey, we do what we can. In this case though, this is a marvelous shot. It's light and gentle, but it's not schmultzy and sentimental, it's not something that the Hallmark company would get horny over, or Oprah would go on and on about in between commercial breaks without ever saying WHY something like beauty is important. It's real, and that's what I like. The focus is spot on, the colors are amazing, it's alive in all of the right ways: it's right there, declaring "I'm a flower," without ever demanding that you like it or that you care about it. But that's what I think life is all about. People despair at the idea that life is meaningless, but that's where real freedom lives...life IS meaningless (just as flowers are) because it's up to Us Human types to apply our own meanings to things...and THAT, right there is what makes this into such a cool Birthday dedication. Funny, a flower for a car geek, and it's so perfectly right. I really love this shot. It's a definite keeper.

I love the off-center focus. That's what says "Corey" most loudly to me about this image. Perfectly clear, but he asks us to look off in a corner to see something that's a bit quirky, and a whole lot more interesting than what everyone else was talking about. I like this very much!

WOW!! This is really nice! Thanks a lot! Nobody knows this, but I'm actually, secretly, quite fond of flowers. They really are quite fascinating and I love all the different varities and their wonderful smells. I've frequently wished I could live on a planet where it's always spring( without Chicago's crappy bipolar spring weather)and have everything blooming all the time. Thanks for all the nice things you said about me and all the good vibes. All i can say is that you're pretty groovy too. Hopefully by spring we can make it to the Botanical Gardens. I think that would be pretty cool. Of course, going to the club house sometime this winter and having some of that hot cider would be pretty nice as well. Hint, hint. Like this a lot, and thanks again!
