Description

In a weird way, this reminded me of the picture I posted the other day of the Alaskan Way Viaduct called Urban Layer Cake. It's Trent & David's piano, of course. The most famous piano in the world! :D This image is for a friend who plays the piano beautifully, and appreciates fine instruments, especially if they're bathed in golden light. (You know who you are, my friend!)

Not only the most famous, but likely the most beautiful piano in the world too...this is just stunning!

Well, I know it isn't meant for me since I can't play. This is a beautiful piano, no doubt about that.

Interesting angle! Took me a minute to figure it out. I like this a lot, particularly the view of the strings/guts sandwiched deeply between the keys and the close up of the sheet music up top like you're looking from the top of a mountain down into the valley below.

Superb closeup. I can't decide which I like better, the red and gold decorations on the top or the creamy filling with all the notes.

What an instrument! A wood finish so deep and rich that it mirrors everything in the room. Your composition picks out those things you love the best in any photographic image...light, colors and reflections. :)

WOW! You do this piano so well...it makes me think of all of those recorded recitals by guys like Yevgeniy Kissin or Ivo Pogorelich, when I saw them at Chicago's Orchestra Hall and marveled at how supernaturally shiny and ominous the piano always seemed...they made it do wonderful and exciting and somewhat scary things, and that's always a good thing...and I love the fact that I'm reminded of that when I see so gorgeous a shot. I love the layers and the way this makes me think of a quantum piano, and now I have to go and figure out what a quantum piano sounds like and how it might be played. Oh, I think there might be an Agaran connection in there somewhere. This is gorgeous and I love the wa it's stirring so much in me.

This is the most famous piano I know of and this particular shot is gorgeous. I don't know about that layer cake (I'm gonna check though), but you're right; makes me want to find my knife a have a piece!

Wonderful image and title! The red and gold inner workings look like a peak into a treasure chest. Which they are. Beautiful lines, light, and reflections! I love the reflected sheet music!

I can't play one but I can appreciate a lovely piece of furniture. This is something else though, a beautiful 'instrument' used to create music and happiness. It is so sad to know so many pianos sit in houses, as expensive furniture to demonstrate the size and oppullance of the house and it's rooms, but they sit in silence. That Trent and David can enjoy this is nice, that they share it with friends and family is special and makes this a true 'Grand' piano. Once again you bring us into your world.I'm sure you could surround this piano with a hundred photographers and not one would have taken 'this' shot. The colour and contast, the light and reflection...just perfect.
