Description

More Christmas goodies. Cake Balls, a new and simple recipe. I decided to give it a try. Recipe: Ingredients: Your favorite cake mix (bake per directions) Your favorite prepared frosting to match. Chocolate for dipping. l. After cake has cooled, crumble it. (I used my food processor). 2. Add one container of frosting, mix well (I used my stand mixer). 3. Chill for just a little bit, so it is easy to work with. 4. ROLL into balls (1-1/2 to 2 inches is a good size) and set on wax paper lined cookie sheet. Return to 'fridge and cool til firm. 5. Melt chocolate for dipping (Milk, semi-sweet, white, whichever you prefer).. then dip cake balls in chocolate, setting on another sheet of wax paper. Return to fridge until the chocolate hardens. 6. Eat and enjoy :) Easy! Being the first time I ever made these, I didn't know how many balls a cake had (Yes there is a joke here). So I baked 4 cakes (Milk Chocolate with chocolate frosting, German Chocolate with german choc coconutty frosting, spice cake with cream cheese frosting and white cake with vanilla frosting)... I was dipping forever. Each cake made about 4 dozen balls! Everyone loved them, so the recipe is a keeper. My previous upload, "Christmas Goodies". Happy Monday or Tuesday if you're on the other side ;) Hugs, ~Melinda~

What a shot and a recipe. I'm DEFINITELY going to try this, I might wait until next Christmas, but I'm gonna do it. This is a gorgeous shot too. I love the Cake-level POV and the sense of holiday warmth that seems to make me think of The Nutcracker playing in the background, while cats lurk under the table, just waiting to have a go at the butter, the icing, or anything even remotely dairy-related. Marvelous. I love the light in this too. This, I could say, is a yummy shot.

Wonderful contrast and focus in this pic of your Christmas goodie success, Melinda! Beginner's luck? I'd try making these, but I'm not allowed to eat stuff like this, and I'm the only one around.
