Description

Lance and Lyle were reluctant at best to pursue working in the wrecked Corvette. They told old man Ammon Pfeiffer, the owner, they needed to talk it over with their Dad. Their dad, who was a car enthusiast and had a couple classics of his own looked over some of the pictures they had taken of the wreck and also the spare parts that were available. They searched the internet for comps to see how much money they might be talking about. Their Dad thought it would be a good learning experience for the boys if they didn't have to stick a lot of money into it. The next day they called Ammon back and told him they were interested and wanted to know how much he was asking for the parts. Old Ammon had taken a shine to the boys right after he started talking with them cause they reminded him of his own son who had died in the crashed Corvette several years previously. Ammon knew that if he valued the parts too low, the boys wouldn't appreciate what they were getting, but if he asked for too much, they would shy away from the deal. In his heart, Ammon had a feeling these boys would succeed in rebuilding the wreck and he that more than anything else. Ammon, being the shrewd business man in his own right, named his first price. He knew it was less than they could get the parts for anyplace else, but so high as to discourage the boys. He was glad to find the boys could haggle so they went back and forth on the price till they arrived at a an agreement. A couple days later, the boys showed up at Ammon's gravel and junk yard with a borrowed trailer and the money to pay for all the parts. They had to borrow some from their Dad, but he wasn't worried they would pay him back. Ammon was waiting for them and was all ready with a loader to help place the wreck on their trailer. They loaded up all the other parts too and almost didn't have room for them all. Ammon gave them a couple names of some local suppliers they could contact when they got to the final stages of restoring the Vette, but they had more than enough to get started on the project with what they got from Ammon. Both boys had taken mechanic and body shop classes in high school and were in a summer school class at the junior college where they were learning advanced body repair techniques. This car project was going to fit in quite nicely with what they were studying. They were bubbling over with enthusiasm as they waved goodbye to Ammon. He made them promise to let him see how they were progressing and to for sure and bring the finished project back and give him a ride in it. Thank you for taking a peek! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Excellent story to go with the image. I knew a little paint would fix her up fine, or maybe a little more might be needed. Nice job.
