Description

I was called away, and may not come back till the 2d or 3d. So let me wish you all a fabulous New Year, and may it bring boundless inspiration to you all. We're all artists: May the light just pour on you! What better wish can we have? This is Lake Michigan w/ a blasting sun last winter. Finally, tomorrow (the 30th) is Harry's birthday (goodoleboy). Happy birthday Harry! I'll post for you when I return---sorry I couldn't be on time, but I didn't forget!
A blessed New Year to everyone Mark (The image fills-out, full-size.)

Light on ice ... what a marvel! The shine, especially in the shadows, gives the impression of softness. I'm always surprised when ice like this is cold. A gorgeous, glorious image. Take good care, dear one. You're in my heart.

Turbid, turbulent clarity, light and texture in this stunning shot of the frigid water of Lake Michigan, strikingly caught in a nanosecond, in this fantastic foto, Mark! Have a good trip and a very Happy New Year, my friend. Oh, and thankx for the happy birthday wish, which, incidentally, none of the commentors above bothered to even acknowledge.

A wonderful capture of this amazing snow by the water. It looks as though someone has sculptured it into this shape and the light catches it in a super way. Very well spotted and I hope you have a very happy and healthy new year too.

The light is wonderful in this. But even nicer is how you found a place where the ice forms echo the water.. like frozen foam. Very cool.

WOW! What a marvellous capture of the ice. It looks as if it was made of Jelly. What a magnificent shot this is. You are an amazing photograph, Mark. I hope you know that by now. I hope everything will be ok, my friend and I hope you you will have a wonderful New Year full of light, good health and hope.

Ah, slob and ice! (Slob is the name given to sluggish water that is the prelude to the ice formation in Labrador - do you use the term in the US as well?) This immediately makes me want to grab my fleece jacket, gloves, gator, and skis... then I remember it's getting up to 34C during the day here... :o) All the best to you too, Mark. I'm busy catching up with the mountain of backlog, but you're top of the list!

and the same wish of light to you too, mark! i gazed at this quite a while, but i am always caught and taken away when at the sea, at water, even a river is enough, i just love water. btw. that makes me think of rain, which is my favourite water, and that i wanted to start something about rain, but how? haha, this shouldnt be your problem, be well, mark, and have a fine start into this brand new year :)
