Description
Here is my nod to the fabulous bird images posted of late. Not the best of shots but this really handsome chap was an absolute darling and stood out against the crowd with his antics as I was giving out the much welcomed food on Bodmin Moor. He also came very close indeed which is most unusual for a rook. I didn't venture very far into the Moor, the weather being unreliable up there, and especially as a foul wind blew, but I did get to feed a few of the ponies as well as this chap and his friends.
Happy New Year to all! I wish you all good health above all else. ^=^
Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

This is a really great shot Carpathia, it shows the bird off much better than my attempt yesterday.

great shot Carpathia, as i said to Jeff yesterday reminds me of my childhood in a Wiltshire village, (Hindon), when we were surrounded by Rookeries. Great book Crow Country by Mark Cocker.

What a fabulous creature and I think he is a Familiar! He also seems to be asking: Do you think these feathers make my butt look fat? or maybe not. At any rate, I love the fact that this is one of the first New Year shots I've seen...all while listening to the improbability of extremely loud and obnoxious music with lots and lots of flatulent tubas playing. That doesn't take away from the handsomeness of this bird, the rich sense of life and personality you've caught, and the sheer joy of such a picture. Happy New Year to you and I look forward to more handsome Familiars and other assorted beauties as you'd see fit to show.
