Description
Oregon has more covered bridges than any other state west of New England. I had come to Albany because it is located near several well-known bridges. Twenty miles east of Albany near the town of Scio is the Larwood Bridge. The 105 foot long Larwood Bridge was constructed in 1939 and is located at the junction of the Roaring River and Crabtree Creek.

Thank you for sharing these bridges here with us - I have never seen such natural designs and constructions - blending with the surrounds ... maybe I should travel more, I hear you say ? LOL By now the Christmas celebrations are well and truly over for another year, I hope yours was a memorable one - so bring on the New Years frivolities and resolutions, which we all secretly have - but most of all, I wish you good health, Mark ! Cheers BB

We don't really have these here.I wonder why they were covered. These are great pics, which show off this most attractive structure.

Wonderful images! I remember seeing one on the old Marcola road (it's on the left as you're going south into Springfield). I didn't know that about Oregon. Fascinating!

These photos are so wonderful. Covered bridges are so much of our past - seeing them still today gives me a feeling of comfort.

I would be hard pressed to distinguish this gorgeous scene from one of my beloved New England, it has all the same charm and beauty. I didn't know they built them outside of New England, thanks for expanding my world view.
