Description
The guys worked later than usual. They were enjoying their work so much, they lost track of time.
Crash! Bang! Whoooooop! Whooop! Whooop! "Help me! Please! Somebody help me! Get this thing off me!" somebody was screaming!
'What the devil is all the racket outside?', the guys all wondered together. The answer wasn't long in coming. With a flashing light and an audible mechanical sounding 'Intruder alert! Intruder alert! Intruder alert!', the experimental security robot Lance & Lyle's father was working on for his company came rolling up the garage ramp. Solidly in it's grip and tied with a hefty rope was Reggie, with a can of lavender colored spray paint still in his hand.
"Can you believe that guy!", said Lyle as he walked outside to view the spectacle. The other guys followed him out too.
"Well, looks like we've got ourselves a genuine trespasser!" said Lyle. "Looks like he may have been up to some no good mischief to me! What were you going to do with that spray paint, trespasser?"
"None of your business, DORK! Now get me out of here!" screamed Reggie.
"I think I have an idea what you were up to! Doesn't take much imagination to figure that one out!" said Lyle in a now slightly excited and raised voice.
Ridge walked over to the robot and Reggie. "You know, this kind of action requires some kind of punishment, don't you agree, boys?"
"Yeah, sure does!" they all exclaimed in unision.
Ridge started to search in Reggies pockets. He found what he was looking for, although it took him a little longer than perhaps it should have feeling around in those tight pants. "Look at that smirk on Reggie's face", said Joey. "I think he enjoyed that search a little too much!" as they all burst out in laughter. Reggie just turned several shades of red.
Ridge disappeared with Reggie's keys for a short while. In the distance, they heard the familiar squawk squawk sound given off by a car alarm. A few moments later, a beautiful burgundy Mercedes convertible rolled up onto the ramp in front of the shop with Ridge behind the wheel.
After Ridge got out, Lyle said, "We all know what you had in mind with this paint. I think I have a better use for it. I have a few words I haven't used in a day or two that would look mighty purdy sprayed on this beautiful burgundy canvas!"
"No!" screamed Reggie! "Please don't spray my Mom's Mercedes! I promise, I'll do anything you ask if you'll just leave her car alone! She'll kill me if anything happens to it!"
"Did you say, 'ANYTHING', Reggie?" asked Lyle. "You know, I can think of a few thinkgs I'd love to have you do. I've got a big pile of parts in there that need a good cleaning. You do a good job on those parts and I'll leave the Mercedes alone."
The other guys were a little surprised at Lyles request, but when they thought about it, the beauty of it made sense. Here was prissy Reggie, never gets his hands dirty and if he cleaned those parts, he'd be forever trying to get the grease out from under his nails and the pores of his hands. It was just too perfect!
"I'll do it!" said Reggie.
"Okay!" said Lyle, as he pressed the release button on the robot and untied the rope. "But you better not try anything funny! You are just a little bit outnumbered here. I want those parts spotless!"
Perhaps this might be the best thing that has happened to Reggie in a long time. Eating a little humble pie once in awhile can tend to help build character. At any rate, when he was done later that night, those parts had never been cleaner, and Reggie never complained once! He even joined in with the conversations once in awhile and seemed to enjoy the company of these guys, even under these strained circumstances.
As he was leaving that night, he asked Lyle if he could come back and help them again some day. Lyle was very much surprised, but said, "Sure, why not. Come back anytime. We can sure use the help!"

I agree with Coolcatcom. This was way too easy. Don't get rid off the robot as yet and keep your eyes and ears peeled, boys! And better check those cleaned parts!! Excellent scene! Corrie
