Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

YeeHaa...looks like a good time was had by all. Happy 2011 Marilyn. We sat on the couch at home and watched "The New Year at the Needle"...fireworks of every kind shot from every level of the Seattle Space Needle. 2010 was a great year...2011 should be better yet!

Yeah I stayed home too. I would have loved to go in and shoot the fireworks but the roads get gridlocked, the transport system shuts down...and I'm just too old and boring and ended up just staying home!!!!!!!!!!Anyway living on a beach, the crazy drunken fun comes to me!

Safest way to bring in the new year in my opinion...Home safe and sound here in Wisconsin...walked out at 12:01 yelled happy new year...came back in and threw another log on the fire and went to bed...boring as it may sound but at least no DUI or caused someone else an unhappy new year...(wink)... Happy New Year To You!!

My kind of new years eve celebration! It's been years since I've had any desire to go out and party with the rest of the world. Great capture!

I had dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant with my daughter; then went home and shampooed my carpet before going to bed at 11:00.

We stayed home and watched them blow up the Space Needle. Hung out on RR. Went to bed whenever ... I have no idea what time it was. Not very exciting, but we celebrated the end of a REALLY good year. :D

I'm too old for the wild celebration shenanigans of my sordid youth. I stayed home and watched early 20th century black and white mystery and sci-fi DVD movies. Happy New Year!

This is what life all about, ya know! I love this. It's so warm and friendly and really supremely peaceful. I spent New Years with Corey and we were eating stuff and considering whether or not to watch The Silence of the Lambs again, then decided to listen to music, then listen to the music playing downstairs since it was so loud, and then...when all was said and done, we ate cheesecake. This shot brings all of that back, and it's deliciously warm and fun in exactly the same way, only without obnoxious tuba-heavy music bleeding up through the floor from downstairs. I love it!
