Description

For those potential suitors who have ever tried to punch above their intellectual weight, this rendering is for you. Even though you sometimes got it wrong (Tolstoy?), kudos for sampling the real foods for the soul. And don't let those smug J.Q. Sixpacks out there label you an elite, stay focused on the dream, you're doing it for love. And the chardonnay is pretty good. "Beer is for the thirst, wine is for the senses", a wise man once said, or was it, "I'm an actor, not a model"? I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year's celebrations this year. Thank you all very much for your warm words towards my tribute to Dusty And Scoop last week. There isn't a day that goes by that I do not think of those two gregarious characters. As you can see I'm still playing with Vue. I can't seem to shake the desire to place Poser characters into the more expansive Vue environment. Of coarse, in spite of the software's grand claims of being able to import Poser scenes, Vue gets very temperamental over such alien intrusions. System crashes being a common expression of displeasure. But when a rendering does work, some of the texturing gets lost in translation. This, despite the claims that Vue evokes the Poser binary for dealing with the Poser textures. But, perhaps the problem has more to do with how Poser is interpreting the Vue lighting, lights are certainly not defined in a parallel manner between Poser and Vue. Shadows seem to be a most intractable problem. More research is required. Oh, and did I mention that some Poser textures get lost when a saved Vue scene is reloaded? The only solution being the re-import of the Poser scene followed by the requisite texture corrections that you implemented the first time around. Very annoying seeing that for this particular rendering, persistent 'out of memory' errors required Vue to be terminated after every rendering. Sigh!

A beautiful scene and well worth all the effort of trying to make the two softwares merge. I like how you have the leaves shadowed on her suit. Excellent work.

That's an excellent scene of budding romance whether requited or not. I've pretty much given up on using Poser shaders in Vue and only do very basic imports hoping for the best. :-) Well done Clayton.
