“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Oh my, that is one of the most lovely shots I've seen; look at that still clear water! How incredibly beautiful!

Nice clear water, and a good shot, but I ask about the description "Not the gold course,...Crescent Lake, Olympic Peninsula, Washington:)" Gold course - the only Pebble Beach I've heard of in the news is a 'Golf Course.'

WOW! Mirrors should be this beautiful! This would be wonderful enlarged to 3ft by 4ft and framed and hung proudly! it would also make for one very nasty and fun jigsaw puzzle

Beautiful beach and reflections, great capture Bill! :)

Whoa, you really had me going with that title. I thought you were going to show a foto of yourself on the putting green, along with a bunch of celebrities. But I digress. Superlative capture of the NW Crescent Lake/Olympia Peninsula and environs, Bill.

This is amazing! Things out on the Pacific Northwest Coast area of this continent just seem so much bigger. Okay, Chicago has skyscrapers and a whompin' big inland sea (minus the salt) but bigness here is flat and featureless...and occasionally spiky and angular and put up with cranes...but out there, you guys have these mountain thingies and bumpy ground with bumps so big, that big trees look small. THAT is what I like about this shot. It's so vast, despite the intimacy your POV suggests. It's not overpoweringly big, it's just a small stretch of beach, and you're looking out thataway at an amazing vista. This is a gorgeous shot. Really top notch work.

This is beautiful, Bill. I love the perfect reflections. But it's Lake Crescent, not Crescent Lake.

wow the water is so clear you can see the rocks in the water for a long ways

The rule of thirds in it's natural habitat! You didn't have to include the top of the hill/mountain as you have shown it in the reflection. Mighty clever of you!

Love the colors, layers, angles, depth of this shot. I believe I have photos of you crawling around on the beach trying to get just the angle you wanted with the polarizer filter. Apparently standing was better. :P I love the photograph! It's a gorgeous reminder of a beautiful day.
