Description

This is for Robert, a very spiritual guy who is on the meand from a serious illness. Robert always gives such insightful comments into the symbols and mysticism of my works. And it greatly appreciated. Some people have asked about a vision quest. A vision quest is strictly speaking a native American spiritual tradition although, as I have done here it has also been adapted by many Wiccan communities. From wikipedia: In many Native American groups, the vision quest is a turning point in life taken before puberty to find oneself and the intended spiritual and life direction. When an older child is ready, he or she will go on a personal, spiritual quest alone in the wilderness, often in conjunction with a period of fasting. This usually lasts for a number of days while the child is attuned to the spirit world. Usually, a Guardian animal will come in a vision or dream, and the child's life direction will appear at some point ---------------- Anna? Yes? Are you ready to go? Yes. Then come with me. Who are you? I am Faelyn. I am your guide. Where are we going? You'll find out when we get there. Are you sure you are ready for this? I am ready; lead me to where we are going. Come then and I will open your way into the land of the ancestors; it is all that was, all that is, and all that will be. I do not understand. That is why you are here. My jaw dropped when I saw this one! So lovely with the stairway up of light, the fantastic guide figure you created and the otherworldly effects. A highly effective way of showing the beginnings of Anna's journey into the spirit realm. I very much also like how you have the bit of brush and tree limbs providing the gateway from this world to that. It so ties the two together without overwhelming the scene with mundane vegetation. Fantastic work, Roxy, and a great dedi for your friend!

A beautiful and enchanting image that gives a new meaning to the effect of backlight! So now we knows what a vision quest is. I might otherwise have thought that Anna was already pretty sure of herself but you never know with this characters! It was only an outwards appearance..
