Description

I found this Dutch white farmhouse two miles south of my last Mill-post 'Still under construction'. It is situated along a peat-river called 'Vlist' and is the only farmhouse with a white facade in the area. Last Sunday the sun was shining brightly and that was the moment to capture the shadows casted by espaliers in front of the farm. The owners of this farm are quite wealthy with this kind of forged decorations on the facade. Nice detail: The leftmost window belongs to the 'opkamer'; the room where the marriageable daughter lived and slept. Her fiancee could easily climb through the window and visit her at night...
