Description

A rather fuzzy offering, but I love the way this spidery wonder has incorporated the plant into it's web weaving. I've seen stuff woven into webs before, but never more beautifully than this. This is art in it's truest form, made, albeit accidently, by a creature who's fate is oft times met by a quick slap with a shoe! Personally, I bow before such talent and pay tribute to her in the posting of this here. ^=^ Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

I recognize the pattern on the belly of this exquisite little weaver, and I am happy to say that this is one of those global species. In the USA we call them Marble Spiders...they're quite docile and I never do anything more than touch one in order to get it to flex its legs. Usually they scurry. Did I mention they're docile? Well, docile unless you're a mosquito, a gnat, or some other edible thing with wings. Babies of this breed have been captured in the air during trans-oceanic crossings (by balloons sent up with little vacuum suckers to collect pollen and animal samples.) Their young transport themselves by a process known as...well...as "ballooning." They exude a little strand of silk and let the wind catch it. They can get pretty far that way. Okay, now that I've rambled on, I'll say at least ONE thing about this capture. It's marvelous and the colors are the first thing that grabbed me. I don't see it as blurry or fuzzy at all...it's incredibly hard to capture one of these webs anyway, and so for me it looks perfectly normal...and a far sight clearer than my own attempts. The lighting is marvelous; it's magical, in fact, and I love the warm tones and the greenery of the plant. This picture is so alive in the way that I really adore. And your model is so cooperative. Delightful!

Gorgeous backlighting! They nust have coped well with the cold weather, for I saw a pair of Dartford Warblers on the heath this last week, who depend on spiders as their staple diet.
