"After the SGL tore through Skullport like a tornado, destroying House Belabra and bringing a half dozen other power centers down, they didn't hang around to rebuild the place. They were too busy chasing the Avatar of Kiriansalee across the UnderDark to Maerymydra. Elbsegrym, the immortal half demon herm who once owned and operated the tavern known as Shagisbor was slain. Narcissa, the half-demon daughter of the Prince of the Incubi had claimed her power, her soul, and her head. Narcissa went on to take over the ruins of Shendelavri, the tangled mass of tree roots and abyssal plant creatures that had sprung from the body of her own mother, the Wild Dryad, Sumac. The SGL went on to destroy Maerymydra, or part of it at any rate. But what of Skullport?"

"Out of the ashes and chaos that followed the SGL's assault, new rulers took command, new villainies were born, and a new mistress of Shagisbor stepped forward. Everyone thought she was a renegade Drow. Nothing was further from the truth. It was soon seen in the deep fighting pits beneath the tavern, the place where the real entertainment took place, that Jhaelurra Barrityl was anything but a normal Drow. She too was a half demon, but something none of them had seen before. Her powers were strange, her abilities uncanny, her appetites insatiable. She too was the daughter of noble demon blood, but no noble that could be found in this multiverse's Abyss. Somehow, somewhere, she had managed to cross dimensions. The multiverse she came from was something completely different. The Arrallon she knew had a totally different history. But here and now, she knew this was the place she really wanted to be."
