Description

I finally got to see "Tron Legacy", as you've no doubt guessed, that is. And in keeping with my desire to push myself into a wider range of styles, I decided to do something in the spirit of the design esthetic, while not simply imitating it. That's harder than you might think, I found. What I also found is that the wider "cyberpunk" esthetic has had a much bigger impact on me than I'd realized, and I just couldn't quite shed the "grunge" element to my own work completely. Still, considering just how much the original Tron really did impact the world of science fiction and most especially cyberpunk, it seems only fair do a bit of blending of them here. I put this as mixed medium because while the flyers are modeled and rendered in Bryce 6 (my own design, pride insists I must add) They've been heavily modified in Photoshop as I tinkered around to get this look. I honestly didn't even know what look I was aiming for, in a way, so much of this is a happy accident as a result of tinkering and experimenting. Next time I'll see about doing more of this look in Bryce, but that's another adventure for another day... Thanks for taking a look, and I hope you've all had a good weekend!

Very nice design and the texture certainly speaks of Tron, so I think you nailed it!

That´s absolutely awesome!!! I did realize that 2011-2020 will be a new 80`s, a decade for the post-cyberpunk age

!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!! This quite simply ROCKS! The ships look absolutely fantastic, and they do have that Tron look about them (I've GOT to go see that..). What a treat for the eyes, my friend! Outstanding work!!

WOW! This is amazing. I love the vivid life in this and the whole TRON feel that this has. I have yet to see the snazzy, slick update, but I remember the classic Tron with the really hokey soundtrack. Heady stuff for the Atari-age, and this is heady stuff for NOW! I really like the direction you've gone in with this and the whole piece of work is really top-drawer stuff. I love your background too: so much for the regular, traditional starcape. This is great!

Don't care for these ships as much as the other one. Same for their textures. However, that is not to say that these are not well done because they are fine. I just prefer the other version.
