Description

Hey Shawn, thanks for the anatomy lesson on last nights posting - very interesting. Ran into a nest of baby alligators just working their way out of the nest. They were 5 to 6 inches (12 to 15 cm) in length. Taken in the Florida Everglades, in 2004, and I was very safe on an elevated boardwalk. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Man that would be an embarrassing way to go, eaten alive by baby gators! Kinda makes you look at elephants a bit different, they walk on their fingers! And that dinner plate sized horse hoof is his middle finger/toe nail. I think it would be interesting to see the workings from an engineers perspective.

HELLO! GREAT shot of these 'little' gators. Like CHILDREN, however, they SOON grow UP and become TEENAGERS. WINK.

Hey, those little dudes are really black. At this nascent stage, do they have a very high casualty rate due to predators? In any case, stellar clarity and contrast in this overhead foto, Dana.
