Description
And me, I'm lost in Vue ;-(
I had put a character in this picture, with its feet in the water and after a 10 hours "ultra render", the character's skin came out poorly ,very grainy. I removed it and this is a "final render", took 3 hours.
Help from Vueists is welcome: how to import character from poser correctly? I'm using Vue6 studio pro.
Still I'm quite pleased with the water as reflection and refraction are ok.
Thank you for visiting.
Take care
Odile

I'm sorry to hear about your export problems, Odile... and I'm sorry to hear the rendering time in Vue can be this long! Oh dear, I would never have a patience to wait for a render to finish so long... although, I remember actually one of my very first renders in Bryce (Bryce 2, I think) took about 1,5 days to get finished... I have had reflective materials inside a sphere with wavy water surface - a big mistake if you want to make fast render! :D I remember there was also some horrible edgy Poser2 figure included in that scene... I hope some experienced Vue users can give you a right advice about how to solve these export issues... I would really love to see more Vue renders from you! :) This one is so beautiful! Hugs, Vashek

Oh, I've had that happen with long renders, get to the end and it just .. well.. something is off, or doesn't render correctly. This landscape is so beautiful, though.. just amazing and so real! Me.. I'm having issues of my own. Some windows error with the last update. Having to totally back up my runtimes and see if I can correct it without having to wipe the computer. :P

It really turned out nice without the poser character! I don't use poser to import characters into Vue. I use DAZ Studio. But in all sometimes when you resize a poser type character in Vue you need to adjust the bump maps for the character as well, especially if you downsize the character.

I like this one too, even without the character. About the Poser/Vue export/import: You'll hear different strategies from different members. Some are dedicated to import with the Poser shader tree (HUGE resource hog) others (like me) like to do the required material modifications in Vue. Sometimes I use the Collada export from Poser (7), occassionally via DAZ Studio - but not so much any more, as long as the Poser collda export works, it lets you downscale the textures as well, if needed. - If you make the modifications in Vue (which I recommend, but that's just me G) pay attention to: The bump map strength (as Thelby says). The highlight colour and intensity. Often it comes from Poser with black or dark grey colour and high settings. Make it white or a pale version of the material colour, and don't make it too shiny (for skin, that is). For skin, also play with a little anisotropy and variable highlights (sometimes included with the Poser material as a "specular map"). Replace Poser metal and glass with Vue ones. For transmapped hair I often use the backlight feature to fake translucency. And, don't import a "raw" Poser figure into a finished or half-finished scene. Work on the "modules" separately, save as VOB, and load them as needed.

Très belle tombe ! La végétation est magnifique et le rendu de l'eau est impressionnant de réalisme ! Je ne connais pas Vue, mais je trouve que tu t'en sors plutôt bien.

oh yes I know about those problems, and I usually export the poser objects seperatly in a new vue scene and adapt them to my liking in vue and safe them as a vue vob before using them in a scene :)
