Description

In the distance of some of my images lies the Paria river, but unfortunately that can not be seen from here. However the area is not devoid of rainfall being located in the northern most reaches of the summer Monsoon's. Standing water like this is not found commonly, especially when it's hot. Amazingly enough in some of these life abounds like some ancient sea. One can get down on hand and knee and see these small creatures lurking round the sediments. Looking forward to getting round the galleries and commenting this weekend! To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed my last image below. thumb_2158377.jpg

Most amazing rock formation and a fascinating sight into where you live. I too would love to see what you see in the standing water.

I love this. It's quite a striking and nicely moody image. I particularly love the way in which the rocks hold such dominance, and yet they're upstaged by a small puddle of water. I guess you could call it a pond, especially if it has life in it. Such little pools always fascinate me...the critters that live in them have some intriguing survival traits and I often wonder just how old they really are, since they're known to hibernate between rains. Anyway, I'm rambling as I tend to do, but that's normal for me, I guess. This shot is amazing. I love it.

Super shot and yes it is amazing where all the creatures appear from, even in a place so desolate as this.

I can imagine the heat here. Water wouldn't stand a chance on our lava landscape too. Nice shot. Aloha
