Description

Took me awhile with this one. Still not quite sure it's done . . . Yesterday, I learned not to yell "Come in" when the doorbell rings. This man came in and immediately started a speel about how his delivery truck had been overloaded and did I want some free seafood. I said no. I said no, again. and again. and again. Mike came out of the back of the apt and said, "Close the door." So he did, and now he was in the living room with the door closed. I picked up the phone and he left. Since we have quite a few widowed, elderly women in our condo, I called our building president to tell him (we are ground floor, second apt in so I knew he was just getting started). Ben moved a few cars so the guy's truck was boxed in, and then he called the police. Turns out there were 3 of them working together. They all got thrown out, but the police made a report, then came and told me what the other 2 looked like and said if I ever see them on the property, call the police because they now had been officially warned to stay out of our all-encompassed condo. If they showed up again, just entered the property, they would be arrested. This was the third time this guy has been here in the last 2 years. Since he doesn't take no for an answer, and I know how afraid some of the women here are of strangers. I was furious. When someone knocks on Anne's door, she calls me and asks me to look outside and see if I know this person knocking, before she will even go to the window and look out. If he managed to corner her, she'd have had a heart attack! And we have several women like that in our building. So, now the door is always locked, and I don't yell, "Come in!" I'm glad the police came and caught them. That's the Allison family's excitement for the week. Thanks for all the kind comments on my previous postings. You have no idea how warm and happy I am when I read them! Linda

Wow, I'm glad you are okay, I doubt the guy was really trying to give anything away for free, its more likely he was looking over your apartment for what it would be worthwhile coming back to steal later. Good thing you called the police. This image looks wonderful. At first glance it looked to me like a collage of stomachs, I know that might sound gross to some folks but I am in the medical field by background so often see things "normal" people wouldn't. Great image!!!

Jeeez! I can imagine that other people might get scared if someone bursts in and forces himself/his products on them. Glad you (and Mike) stood your ground. With a story like that I almost forget to comment on your image. I keep wandering over it, because there is so much to explore. I like the loose strings ^_^

Very unique image. The colors and lighting makes this very outstanding. So nice to hear your story had a safe and happy ending. I really like the safe steps you and your friend have in place. It is so easy to be conned into by sly talkers. Stay safe and keep well.

Glad that went well! Superb fractal... I love the delicate tracery of texturing on the pink, and the suggestion of rippling as well. The strings are adorable! :)

WOW! I'd call that a close escape! Sucks when you have to find out this way not to holler out "come in". Glad you all is well and the scammers/theives/whateverthehecktheyare are now in the sights of PD! Thank you for stopping by, and leaving a comment, a nice one, too. So I popped on over to see who you were .. and I'm like WOW all over again! I wish I had time to go through all of what you've done, but even from the thumbs, and an occaisional peak .. you make your frac program sing arias from the best operas! This looks like maybe it's Apo? Awesome beautiful masterpieces you've created!

I'm glad you are all right and that the police came so quickly. People like this make life so hard for everyone. This is a super fractal with all its different shapes and textures and lovely soft colours. Very well done.

Fascinating fractal. Looks very organic...like a wild, metaphysical medical drawing. Yeah, can't trust anyone nowadays. Don't want to be a victim. Last time a stranger came to the door here, I spent 20 minutes talking to him...he needed to park a broken down truck in my driveway for a day or two...all the time I talked to him, I had my hand on a 38 in my pack. I think he knew, but didn't say anything about it, and he was a perfect gentleman. Gotta keep your guard up.

I am so glad that you are all right! I am also glad that they cornered them and told them to stay away. Lets hope they do. As for the image, I am liking it very much! I love the color and the texture of spiral. It kind of reminds me of the crinkled paper fans. Beautifully done!
