Description
The Allisons have a long history of locked doors, unlocked doors, locked, unlocked . . .
A few months ago, we kept the door locked all the time. Well, remember Anne? 84 year old maid school teacher, worst gossip in the world, 5 apts down? She's very lonely and very needy. Alot of the neighbors avoid her for those reasons. I'm not one of them. I indulge her to 3 or 4 phone calls daily, and a short visit or two almost every day.
Well, one day the phone rang and it was Anne, call #4 for the day. I just didn't want to talk, so I let it roll to voice mail. About 5 min later, another call from Anne. I didn't answer it.
About 15 minutes later, I heard a commotion outside the front door. We have windows you can look out of but no one can look in, so I could see a dozen or so neighbors arguing in front of our door. I unlocked the door and opened it to see what all the excitement was about. I thought a few elderly ladies were going to faint, everyone was so surprised! Anne said, "Why didn't you answer the phone?" and I made up some excuse. Turns out that when I didn't answer the phone, Anne was convinced that I had fallen or was in need of medical care of some kind, so she organized some of the neighbors, and they were arguing about whether to break a window and come in to see if I was ok, or call 911 and let them break the window.
After that, I started leaving the door unlocked (until now; now it's locked, again.)
There's more! We started keeping the door locked in the first place because . . . . maybe another time. Anne was involved there, too.
Have a great weekend, everybody!
And thanks for all the kind comments!
Linda

This is very pretty, Linda. I just love your use of colors and color combinations. The up side of the Anne story is that if you HAD fallen or needed medical help, she was there. :)

I see bananas and grapes, truly a good mix. We have crab apples and plum trees in our yard. P.S. Your busy body friend sounds a bit like a hero in some ways.

Ah! An unlooked for visit. I too have a visitor but only when outside it is cold and icy. A meal is placed beside the door and my need to slip and slither in search of sustenance displaced. Friendliness comes in many guises - but prickly bananas? Maybe the display of sharpness hints at cleverness concealed. I must apologise before next peeling one. Your picture is flavoursome in different ways but the bananas softly speak.

Bless your heart that simply was an amazing story! Although sometimes people can get on your nerves, they mean well and it was good that you have someone looking out for you. Marvelous story! The image is just delightful. I love the gorgeous colors used and wonderful spiral work!
