Tieran looked in the mirror and admitted herself disappointed. She hadn’t really changed that much. In fact, as she turned her head this way and that, outside of skin, hair and eye color, the only real change had been her hair style. She could have faked this disguise herself. Then Kami, or the one she thought was Kami, walked by with her staff glowing like broad daylight and the sudden burning in her eyes and the itching in her skin told her otherwise. She concentrated ever so slightly and magius flared about her and she started floating towards the ceiling. Innate magics were much faster and easier to use that her own spellcasting. The thing that had changed the most about her was her armor. Though still Drow chain, it now bore runes and details in blood red. Her boots and cloak now held long bands of deep red as though stained by blood long ago. These were the markings of the Crimson Sisterhood, a band of elite assassins who controlled the criminal activities of the old Splinter Kingdom before Lolth was cast down. They were at the forefront of every major feud between noble houses, the opening shots of every major war, professional assassins all, hired out to the highest bidder. They had been nearly hunted to extinction by the Drovik Secret Police. She was supposed to be one of their few survivors. Fortunately, the information copied into her mind and the subtle magical Nightscar on her wrist gave her all the secrets she would need to know if she ever actually met one.

She was to be Velgis Teranya Elishgul, a one time member of the Crimson Sisterhood before it was destroyed by the Drovik Secret Police. She’d spent years in hiding since, taking out those few Drovik agents she could, and hiring out to anyone with a few coins wanting someone dead. She was hoping for a sudden jump in sales now that the Crimson Sisterhood’s greatest customers, the priestesses of Lolth, were back in business.
