Description

This is still the Organ Pipe National Monument, Pima County, Arizona and a shot to show you the ruggedness of the Ajo Mountain Range. It is not all sand and desert out there. This is a shot half way up Mount Ajo and shows the Ajo Double Arch. It was created through erosion through volcanic tuff. The Ajo Window has a span of about 100 feet or 30.5 meters. The smaller arch above it, has a span of about 18 feet or 6.5 meters. That is a saguaro cactus in the foreground. I doubt that the upper arch will last mush longer - it is very thin along the top. Photo taken in the winter of 1996 and scanned. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Wow, this is a beautiful shot, Dana! The saguaro seemed to be saying, "Hey, I'm right here!" LOL.

Terrific POV, clarity and rugged texture in this cool capture, Dana; it seems odd seeing the cacti finger in the foreground.
