Description

Daeron Syn, the Dark Wolf of Melnibone, Male Melnibonean Noble/Warrior (Assassin)/Thief/Sorcerer A principal character from a Hawkmoon campaign, a variant of the RPG Stormbringer, set in the “Tragic Millennium Earth” of Michael Moorcock’s novels. H3-8 – Blessings of the Gods or Arrogance: The Silver Bridge was a thing the likes of which Syn could never have imaged; its sheer size amazed him just as much as its Lawful nature disturbed him. The clang of armored boots and metal horseshoes, and the screech of steel wheels, was deafening, but they had reached it nearly unchallenged. For all its twisted madness, Granbretan was a military operation he had to admire, but that was all it was… a military operation. An entire nation defined by a single purpose was a likely unstoppable force, but their single minded focus left no room to imagine the unimaginable; that three of their prisoners had escaped from Londra and now set foot in France. “I told you,” Tarl beamed as he stripped off his falcon masked helm. “The gods smile upon us!” “Less the blessings of your gods… and more the arrogance of Granbretan, I would say,” Syn retorted. “But whatever the reason, we have come further then I believed we could. So now where do we go from here?” “To Normandia… to join the resistance,” Nykira replied with confidence. Though she never really believed they would make it off Granbretan, now that they had she was determined to show those who stood against the Dark Empire that their plight was not hopeless. “So long as there are Granbretans to kill… Its fine with me,” Tarl consented. He had sworn an oath to avenge his fallen comrades and he meant to see it through. “Very well,” Syn agreed. He knew only what little his companions had told him of this world, and he found that quite disturbing, but from what he knew Nykira’s homeland was as good a destination as any. He had never shared his people’s preoccupation with drugged dreams and amoral pleasures, even as a child. Instead he spent his youth studying every bit of lore he could find; from the nearly lost history of his race before they found Melnibone to modern accounts of the human lands which had grown up around it while they dreamed of past glories. So when he had ventured into the Young Kingdoms, he knew nearly all there was to know of them already. But now, he found himself on a strange world, dominated by Law, where his sorcery was severely weakened, and he was dependent on the knowledge of other to even know what land he stood upon.
