Au dessus de cette ville surchauffée par un soleil ardemment impitoyable, les hommes se réfugient à l'intérieur de leurs 'mechtas', laissant passer le temps à coup de partie de dames, juqu'au moment où l'échiquier sur le sable devient trop brûlant. La ville n'est pas morte, mais endormie, avec peut-être une coupure dans la distribution de l'eau jusqu'à 17 heures... Au dessus de cette population endormie, où peu d'animaux errent dans les ruelles et hors des bergeries, une sentinelle aux instincts sanguinaires surveille les terrasses, les interstices entre les linges suspendu, les ruelles apparemment désertes, que franchissent apeurés quelque souris des sables, ou quelque affamé... Depuis ce ciel d'eau bouillante, une pierre semble tombée, venant d'un nuage distrait...et fonce sans déroger sur l'animal insouciant qui quitte les abris ! En dehors de la ville, un oiseau de proie, un milan, une buse, un aigle remonte à tire d'ailes comme pour rejoindre la demeure de Râ...en fait rejoint les contreforts de l'Atlas...pour retrouver son nid,,,et nourrir ses petits, affamés, assoiffés, inquiets et avides de provende. The city is not dead but asleep, with perhaps a break in the distribution of water up to 17 hours ... Above the sleeping population, where few animals roam the streets and out of sheep, a sentinel to monitor the bloodthirsty instincts terraces, the interstices between the hanging clothes, the streets seem deserted, fearful that some mouse cross the sands, or some hungry ... Since this sky of boiling water, a stone fell seems, from a dark cloud distracted ... and without derogating from the animal shelter who leaves careless! Outside the city, a bird of prey, a hawk, a nozzle, an eagle draws wings back to as to reach the abode of Ra ... in fact joined the foothills of the Atlas to find her ... nest, and feed her young, hungry, thirsty, anxious and eager to feed. I was thinking about how the bright colours must reflect the hot rays of the sun away from the buildings in the high afternoon. Remarkably efficient and sensible adaptation. And the love of geometry, mathematics and education just as much reflected i the architecture and decor. There is lots of depth and motion in this scene. A vibrant place alive with people.

I can imagine walking among the homes and catching the pleasant aromas of food cooking.beautiful

Cette belle composition est non seulement remarquable au niveau du travail pictural ( le réalisme de la scène ) et de la mise en forme de l'idée ( le noir et blanc de l'ombre qui vient annihiler la pluralité des couleurs ), qu'au niveau presque prophétique de la menace bien réelle qui pèse actuellement sur lee royaumes musulmans : un peuple jeune aspirant à plus de liberté, insouciant de la menace réelle !! La démocratie rêvée risque en effet de n'être qu'un vautour noir dont l'ombre mortelle dissimule les futurs tyrans sanguinaires... Excellent en tous points !! Bravo !!

Your painting is a world of signals and significances! Like a constant, all or almost all the doors and the windows are closed, wich is for me a sign of protection. The persons have a pose of "expectation" or like waiting? Also, the atmosphere is not of peace or freedom...and it seems to me, that there are several generations together, another sign of the "menace"coming, but along the TIME?...and the black bird, the menace, in your painting, hit me,strongly, with one terrible word FORBIDDENor BAN...However and curiously, none signs of fight... but perhaps some slight signs of hope... in the four open windows in bottom at right? and the figures in the sky, like white birds flying fast, bringing protection and peace. I REALLY HOPE SO! A Perfect realization with excellent light and atmosphere. Excellent work in all meanings, Jean, as always!!BRAVO!

What a composition! The black bird (of) or menace is now there dear friend, in and around the places you like so much and showed so vividly to us during these past years. Where are those calm and colorful streets now? Hope that everything will come to order and peace. Best wishes to you my friend!

Une belle ville où la vie de déroule, tranquille, où, sur les terrasses, sèchent au soleil des épices(?)colorées...et pourtant, dans le ciel, plus bas que les apparitions éthérées en constant mouvement, plane un oiseau noir, dont l'ombre immense s'étend sur la ville... Encore un magnifique tableau, Jean, très esthétique, où pointe le surréalisme !

Une ville orientale, ses couleurs, et en-dessous de cette place où circulent le monde, les maisons des quartiers bas encerclés de murs. Et au dessus de cette vie, l'oiseau, un charognard sans doute, dont l'ombre couvre une partie de la cité, comme un présage maléfique. Restent les nuages, où l'on peut voir, si on le veut, planer des anges! Une oeuvre superbe, Jean!
