River Maas, high water level 9-01-2011; Liege
We just returned from 10 days wandering around in the area where the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium are coming together at the so called three country spot!!
On the 8th 0f January 2011 the water level in the Dutch rivers coming from Belgium as well as from Germany had a rather high water level, and the alarm-bells want off!! See my previous posting.
Next day we went to Liege, Belgium. View on the same river, 25 Km upstream, the river Maas in Liege, Belgium. On the left you see the Sunday morning “Vogeltjes” market. A rather well known, famous market on Sunday. ( Vogel = Bird). Now adays you see hardly any young animal sold on this market (just to protect the animals) and is dedicated to other stuff like clothing’s and more exotic fruit and vegetables.
