Description

Sorry, it has been a long time since I have posted. Many things have happened since I last posted. I have returned to China. I have a few harrowing tales to tell, if I ever learn to write well enough and live long enough to put them to words. In the meantime, it is the Lunar New Year, The Year of the Rabbit. I went out today with my adopted family, and bought the larges orange tree I could bear to watch three men haul up 7 stories up to my apartment. I tried to help them, I almost fell down, and one of them said he would pay me not to get in his way! As you can see, the envelopes have been hung on the tree right here, the children all knowing daddy's wallet has been near. Some have the children's names, and some do not. The ones without will be drawn out by lot. A different amount in each these, fate shall decide who the wealthy child shall be. In case you are wondering I am teaching Conversational English to K-12 as well as helping adults to brush up on their skills. I am well paid, and also well rewarded. I have moved my adopted Chinese family from a poorer neighborhood into one of the best this town of four million has to offer, a four bedroom home in China is considered a luxury home. If any of you wishes to come and join me, drop me a line here.

We've missed you Joe! Good to see you again! Would love to hear about your harrowing tales too! What a pretty orange tree...and I like the custom of putting the envelopes on it for the children! And how wonderful that you've been able to help your adopted family move into a better place! And four bedrooms! I don't know how large the family is, but they must be ever so grateful!!! Looking forward to more great pics!

Hooray! I did not know you could grow oranges indoors. Maybe I need to uproot my semi dwarf orange tree and bring it inside. Your tree looks beautiful. Mine is getting chewed up and I cannot seem to stop it. I am amazed that orange tree is doing so well in a small pot. It is great to hear from you. I hope you continue to do well.
