Description

On the ancient planet "Flatland" there are vast level plains with virtually no change in altitude. The winds here often blast along the surface with such force that nobody can travel for days and weeks at a time. The towers were built as a means to get above the windstorms and still maintain contact with outlying settlements through dirigibles and other aircraft. I am thinking of continuing this concept into other images. I used Poser for the tiny figures. Everything else done in Bryce 5. The textures came with Bryce. Some of them are from Kano's tuturial files, like the sky and the metals and part of the terrain.

I really like everything about this image- except for the sky. I think it's way to gridlike, and not nearly random enough to make it seem real. Everything else looks really great, though. Good work, love the DOF and stuff. It would be very cool to see more of this concept.

thanx for the comments. I will think about the sky. I guess I kinda liked it at first and never gave it another thought after that. The lighting and the haze were appropriate. I think the cloud streaks give some added sense of perspective. I will continue this series, but not for a few more days. Nu-be, I will look for that story. Sounds interesting.

Coo, 'an I thought I posted big pics, this is actualy pretty darn good, maybe a little more detail in the towers to hide their origins as primitives but who cares, well done !!;-)

fantastic, zescanner. the sky isn't really that bad. based on your concept; clouds would probably look this way all the time.

The whole scenery looks really great - like an interesting planet with intelligent live on it although there are people at the bottom with old "cars" (what is the word for this?) - But this could show us a peacefully coexistence of aliens and people :) But I think would look more interesting (for me) that there would be a small stargate somewhere in the background :) thanks anyway, david. --> sg1archive.com (Stargate Informations)
