Description

It always amazes me to see the silver trails left behind by snails ... a give away, if you are looking for them ! So, why are they leaving such distinctive markings - to find their way home ? when they do carry their home always with them ? Us humans leave footprints behind, some of them you can see in the sand with your bare eyes and others are almost invisible - never to be seen ... unless you have the olfactory sense of a dog. Cheers *BB* PS Does this remind you of F.Magellan, the Portuguese explorer, as well ? thanks Andrea!

Everyone, snails included, leave evidence of having been somewhere else before: a trail. The range of steady to wild flux provide clues regarding their previous peripatetic existence and intentions. From that ol' sage of the American West, Dale Evans: Some trails are happy ones, Others are blue. It's the way you ride the trail that counts, Here's a happy one for you. Happy trails to you until we meet again. Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then. Who cares about the clouds when we're together? Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather. Happy trails to you 'till we meet again. Excellent photo and exposition dearest Brigitte aka BB.

Dig the silver and gold metallic qualities, sorta like an old metal globe of the world, before it was properly mapped ! Yes it does remind me of the intrepid explorers of days gone by, very kool result and intriguing capture ! Well done & ~Cheers~

Fantastic details!!! And 'Yes', the trail of an explorer. The lot owner will be able to describe details of his journey, as he goes so slowly. Beautiful colors this picture. It looks like a map. So back to the point, when it comes to exploration.

Great capture, Birgit! One reason snails left their "foot prints" is the same reason to some uses perfume! Finding a partner! First on the track! Then....;o)

A wonderful map you have here and I love the little snail trail dividing up the countries. Very well spotted and captured. I hope you are having sunshine again.

Yes, yes...at first I though you were showing us a map of the world and the track of some old seafaring explorer. But then I realized...these are the same tracks we see right outside our front door at this time of the year...left by slugs (no mobile home on their backs). Eye-catching indeed.

As a history major in college this brings to mind voyages to unknown lands. I wonder what our little explorer discovered on its journey?
