You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

These type of insects have been around for zillions of years. They have overcome everything that nature can throw at them & its sad that we " so called" intelegent specices live for today and dont think about tomorrow Humans are truly a disappointing specices

Very nice captures and great descriptions but I admit to some disappointment in that I was expecting to see a picture of Rowan Atkinson in uniform...

The dragonfly has existed on the earth at least 300 million years owing to the cacoethes that has insured its survival. From egg to nymph, the dragonfly exists beneath the surface of still water resembling an alien creature dangerous and sightly repulsive to the uneducated eye. However, after approximately four years, it emerges into the summer light to present its grace and beauty. In distant cultures the dragonfly is symolic of many things; of deep character and maturity, agile power and poise, defeat of one's illusions, living in the "now," and the opening of one's eyes. In your quiet observations, dear Brigitte, you present to us the truth which many, in our daily dramas, typically fail to acknowledge. This is excellent photography combined with your inimitable prose. Well done dearest BB aka Brigitte.

GORGEOUS SEQUENCE!!! BRAVO!!

Wonderful captures! Love your little story, too! I know the Gaia hypotese well - may she is annoyed with these two legged bugs and wants to get rid of her "bugs" - us!? Well the climate around the world are really extreme for the time - maybe the humanity should be a bit more humble to nature and accept we can't control everything? But stay out of troubles down there, Brigitte! :o)

Great to see this collage. It looks like a story about nature, which is wonderful to follow it. I know now, dragonflies don't have vertigo. :D Does they go off on each other's smell? In any case, these is a feast for the eye, and maybe also for the two subjects. Will one submit to the other, at the and of the line?

fabulous sequence!!

This is a fabulous collage of these two 'lovebirds'. How wonderful they look closeup and your title is so appropriate. Those wings are so delicate and beautiful aren't they. I do hope these two new cyclones don't bring so much rain and damage as the previous ones.
Madbat
Natures little helicopters! They look like little hueys. I don't envy you the cyclone stuff, but a little heat would be nice. It was down to -39c at the airport (not far from here).

Amazing captures- so beautiful! I am sorry for the floods in Australia. I hope that the coming cyclones will be as weak as possible.

Dragonflies on tightropes? Is the flea circus in town? Outstanding series of pictures. They were very gracious to let you take their portraits.
