Description

It don't mean a thing (if it ain't got that swing) Duke Ellington I took this shot when I entered the garden of a 18th century villa in a small town on the outskirts of Padova. The villa is usually closed and can be rented for events, in case you may fancy it. Usually also the garden is closed, but the gate was left open by someone, and by chance I was there at the right moment. I succeeded in taking a number of shots, then the warden kindly told me the garden was closed to strangers. Actually, we spent some minutes chatting about this and that. The old, forlorn swing and the lonely, empty bench told me a story of children that won't swing and nannies that won't fuss any longer. I left the garden and its kind warden in a melancholic mood. Thank you for your kind comments.

Why this picture makes me think about it "Grand Meaulnes", this kind of unique and surreal story written by a French writer? great shot, almost esoteric for me!

A lovely but sad capture. A play area without the children is a very sad place indeed.

Perfect title for a stunning image. This speaks of happier times when the garden bloomed with the laughter of children. Forlorn indeed.
