Description

Trent (my brother) and David (his partner) love to entertain. When we found out Carin was really, truly going to be in Seattle, the first thing that got planned was dinner at Trent and David's place. Dinner for family isn't much different there than any other dinner (and Carin IS family)! The silver, china and crystal get used every day. They figure, why have all this beautiful stuff and never use it? It's a wonderful philosophy! The best part is that when dinner is over and we're all sitting around having one last quarter-glass of wine, nobody cares if I balance my camera on my water glass and take pictures of the table. :D Dinner was delicious, and we had a great time! Thanks again, Trent & David! :D

This has such a warm, 19th century look to it. You paint a wonderful picture of family and friends gathered around the table. The best silver, china and crystal are reserved for special occations which incudes anytime someone comes to dinner.

Oh, yes, Trent and David know how to set the table and they never mind if anyone crawls around after dinner!! I remember David rushing around, taking the fan away, saying, "OMG, I just know this is going to be on Renderosity!" This is a beautiful foto and I'm sure it was a great evening; wish I could have been there.

My favorite things...the company, the food and the atmosphere. Looking at a zoom of this photo carefully, I see you've captured the entire microcosm of that fun evening in the silver water pitcher...:) Love the postwork.

A lovely still life, Tara! Sounds like the perfect evening - what was that beer commercial a few years ago...."It doesn't get any better than this.." All this, and you probably didn't even need the vice-grips for the wine! Wonderful photo!

What a lovely bit of exquisiteness! I love the light, the colors, the reflections, the implications of dinner and the idea of silver and fine dinnerware serving a daily-use sort of life. I agree with their philosophy! And I see wine...or vino as it's called in Czech...I love it when Czechs steal words from other languages. What a gorgeous shot and a great memory capture of a fantastic time. How gorgeous!
