Description

This time I used my flash and managed to get the bloom fully opened in the early morning (1am!), before the bees found it later that. It has a very sweet smell that attracts them by the dozen. Basically after just 24 hours it is closed again, withers and drops off. The nightblooming cereus is also known as the lunar flower, moon flower and luna flower. I have left this very large so that you can zoom to see the stamen and pollen. Shine on... Clive

I love cactus flower, such a contrast of the elegant flower and the harshness of the plant it grows from, beautiful colors and outstanding details, your use of the flash was the perfect solution to the lighting problem, beautiful work!
